BRI (NC State) donates $100,000 for the advancement of poultry research (10/18/2010)

BRI grew out of technology developed in the N.C. State Poultry Science Department by now-retired poultry science professor and BRI co-founder Dr. Jason Shih.

Dr. Sam Pardue, head of the departmet at NC State University said he is very grateful for the gift, which will significantly expand the department’s reasearch and teaching capabilities.

These new cages have battery-operated heating units to keep chickens warm, and are also larger than usual, letting researchers hold longer trials and also use them with turkeys. According to Giles Shih, president of BRI, these types of cage systems will facilitate poultry research that has a direct impact on better animal health and nutrition for the future. read more

BRI (NC State) Selected as one of the Fastest Growing Companies in the Raleigh-Durham Area (10/11/2010)

BRI has been selected as a Fast 50 Award winner for 2010. Each year, the Triangle Business Journal recognizes 50 of the fastest growing private companies in the Raleigh-Durham area. The Fast 50 winners are selected and ranked based on revenue numbers analyzed by PricewaterhouseCoopers. The rankings of the 50 companies will be revealed at the Fast 50 Awards Dinner on Nov. 4. read more
