Discera’s (Berkeley, Michigan) Silicon Oscillators Are The First To Deliver 10 ppm Accuracy For Consumer Applications (11/22/2010)

Discera, Inc. develops and markets MEMS-based timing solutions that replace traditional quartz crystals and oscillators. The company was formed in 2001 to commercialize research from the University of Michigan and the University of California at Berkeley. The doctoral work of Chief Technology Officer and Michigan graduate Dr. Wan-Thai Hsu led to the birth of Discera.

Discera, Inc., the leading provider of silicon timing technology announced the production availability of 10 ppm versions of its DSC1001 low jitter and the DSC8001 programmable silicon oscillators. These oscillators are the first silicon timing products to deliver 10 ppm accuracy at up to 85 degrees Celsius as required by ultra-compact and mobile consumer electronics and computing products. They are also the first to deliver this level of performance in a consumer grade product to improve the quality and stability of high definition video applications and wireless communications.
