Aquantia and Fulcrum Partner (Caltech) to Launch Industry’s First 48-port 10GBASE-T Ethernet Switch Reference Design (11/16/2010)

Fulcrum Microsystems is a leading provider of high-performance Ethernet switching silicon. The company was founded in 2000 based on research conducted by co-founders Uri Cummings and Andrew Lines when they were graduate students at Caltech.

Aquantia, the leading developer of mainstream 10GBASET PHY solutions, and Fulcrum Microsystems, the leading provider of high-performance Ethernet switching silicon, announced today that they have jointly developed a 48-port 10GBASE-T switch reference design platform to enable the mainstream adoption of high-density Top-of-Rack and End-of-Row switches. The platform will feature Aquantia’s market leading 40nm quad PHY technology and Fulcrum’s market leading FM6000 switch architecture.
