QD Vision (MIT) purchases patent portfolio from Motorola

QD Vision, an MIT spinoff that creates highly differentiated lighting and displays solutions, announced on Monday, May 24, that it had purchased a patent portfolio from Motorola. The portfolio, which included U.S. Patent No. 5,42,254 of Jaskie, pertains to the use of quantum dot technology in display and lighting products. Before this acquisition, QD Vision already had nine issued patents and mroe than 130 patents pending from both MIT and QD Vision. [press release]
