Ondax (Caltech) receives NSF Phase II award

Ondax, a Caltech spinoff that manufactures Volume Holographic Grating filters and wavelength-stabilized laser sources, announced on Monday, May 10, that it had won a $500K Phase II award from the National Science Foundation. The prize was awarded for Ondax to continue developing a novel miniature external-cavity tunable single frequency laser. The development team will continue to include Dr. John L. (Jan) Hall, who shared one-half of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in precision spectroscopy. [press release]
